TAE Plastic Surgery Clinic Hosts U.S. Sciton Innovations Workshop
TAE Plastic Surgery hosted Dr. Patrick Bitter for a Sciton BBL HERO & Er:YAG-Halo workshop, drawing 50+ medical professionals from Korea and Taiwan.

TAE Plastic Surgery Clinic announced that its Sciton (U.S.) live seminar, held at its clinic on August 26, concluded successfully. The seminar covered Sciton's Er:YAG & Halo and BBL HERO devices. Sciton's Er:YAG & Halo is a high-end, premium-grade laser system regarded as the world's first hybrid fractional laser to simultaneously deliver two wavelengths — the 2940nm Er:YAG laser wavelength and an entirely new 1470nm wavelength. BBL HERO is a laser that addresses the shortcomings of conventional IPL lasers, whose light energy output tends to be unstable. BBL HERO is characterized by precise, stable energy delivery. Because this energy is broken down into extremely short pulses, it generates less heat on the skin's epidermis and allows for more careful, controlled targeting of melanin pigment. As a result, it carries a comparatively lower risk of side effects than IPL lasers. At the seminar, Dr. Kim Ki-tae of TAE Plastic Surgery Clinic explained the overall configuration of Sciton's devices and broke down its relatively complex combination systems in an accessible way. He also gave a lecture organizing the concept of "Prejuvenation" — a term that has recently drawn significant attention — and shared his knowledge and clinical experience by referencing actual patient cases treated with Er:YAG & Halo. The seminar also featured a special guest — the world-renowned Dr. Patrick Bitter, developer of BBL HERO — who shared his knowledge and experience with the device and conducted a live hands-on demonstration of BBL HERO. The event drew strong engagement from a total of around 50 medical professionals, including practitioners from both Korea and Taiwan. Additionally, since the seminar was held in Busan — a central hub for the medical tourism industry — at TAE Plastic Surgery Clinic, it provided a meaningful opportunity for regional medical professionals, who previously had difficulty attending Seoul-centered seminars, to take part as well. Meanwhile, Dr. Kim Ki-tae of TAE Plastic Surgery Clinic serves as an Academic Committee Member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and as Secretary-General of the Busan Medical Association. He also contributes to the advancement of global aesthetic medicine through extensive involvement in domestic and international academic societies, as well as by conducting training sessions and seminars for medical professionals from around the world.
